However, Peel Smart Remote can still work even if the device it is installed on does not have an IR blaster. In this case, it can fall back to using WiFi instead to communicate, provided both devices support WiFi.
Peel Smart Remote is simple to use and compatible with a wide range of devices. Its universal compatibility is very convenient and it's completely free, but that does come at a cost. Peel has some very unfriendly behaviours, such as very intrusive ads on your lock screen and overlays while using the app. The app is known to open itself in the background even after it is closed by the user. In addition to this, on devices where it comes pre-installed, there is no way to uninstall it; it can only be disabled.
